In our increasingly wireless and touch oriented tech world, you have to wonder why the computer mouse has been left behind. Thankfully, we are taking a step in the right direction with evoMouse, an invisible computer mouse created by
Celluon.
The evoMouse is a small animal-shaped device with infrared sensors that tracks your finger movements to carry out common mouse operations without having to push around a physical mouse. Users can control the cursor click to select, double-click, right click and drag and drop in addition to multi-touch functions such as pinch to zoom and even scroll using only your fingers. Better yet, the device also boasts a handwriting feature that lets you write using your finger or a pen.
This portable gadget works on almost any flat surface and connects with ease using Bluetooth or an USB Port. It’s compatible with laptops or PCs running on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Apple’s Mac computers, as well as the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android and Blackberry devices.
According to
Celluon, using the evoMouse could help reduce repetitive strain injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome as your natural hand movements are not restricted and there’s no mouse to push around. For those of us who can’t wait to set our fingers free – there’s one catch, the evoMouse has yet to receive a price tag or a worldwide release date. Rest assured we will keep you in the loop.
